Daniel Garcia dos Santos

Degree in Biology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, UFRGS, Brazil (2004) and obtained a master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2006) studying the involvement of the enzyme heme oxygenase I (HO-1) in apoptotic pathway. I am currently a doctoral fellow, working with the influence of HO-1 during the erythroid diferentiation. My expertise area includes genetics and molecular biology, with emphasis on heme oxygenases, erythroid diferentiation, iron metabolism and apoptosis.
