Carlos Enrique Alvarez Salazar

I am a Physicist graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) in 2009, and finished my M.Sc in Physics in the same university in 2015. During these studies, I analyzed the cooling processes of neutron stars by the emission of neutrinos produced in the Direct and Modified Urca processes.I got my doctorate at Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), where I studied Dark Matter, in the context of a well motivated extension of the Standard Model, the so called 3-3-1 model.My research interests include physics beyond the standard model, dark matter models and cosmology. I am also interested in the teaching of physics and outreach activities.
