Thadeu Rodrigues de Melo

I am graduated in agronomy (with honor to the merit - highest average grade), master in agronomy (area of concentration: sustainable soil management and agricultural engineering) and specialization in statistics with emphasis in quantitative research by the State University of Londrina (UEL). In my PhD, in agronomy, performed at the same university (with a sandwich period at the University of Adelaide, Australia), I have studied the relationship between charge balance of the clay fraction and micro-aggregation in soils. I have idealized the fist method in the world that allows the quantification of three classes of clay, regarding the structural behavior. I have also introduced the charge sparsity concept to explain the relationships between hydrated cations with electronegative surfaces, explaining their effect on clay dispersion. I have lectured at the department of statistics from UEL and, currently, I also lecture at the department of geosciences, from the same university. I also lecture soil-related courses at Pitágoras Faculty.

Possuo graduação em Agronomia (com honra ao mérito - maior média geral), mestrado em agronomia (área de concentração: Manejo Sustentável do Solo e Engenharia Agrícola) e especialização em Estatística com Enfase em Pesquisa Quantitativa pela Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL). Em meu doutorado em Agronomia, realizado na mesma Universidade (com período sanduíche na University of Adelaide, Austrália), trabalhei com a relação entre o balanço de cargas das partículas na fração argila e a microagregação de solos. Idealizei o primeiro método do mundo que permite a quantificação de três classes de argila, quanto ao comportamento estrutural. Também introduzi o conceito de esparsidade de carga para explicar as relações dos cátions hidratados com superfícies eletronegativas, explicando assim seu efeito sobre a dispersão de argila. Fui professor temporário no departamento de estatística da UEL e atualmente sou professor temporário no departamento de geociências da mesma universidade. Também ministro as disciplinas de solos na Faculdade Pitágoras.
