Waldir Miron Berbel Filho
I am fascinated about evolutionary processes generating biodiversity, from microevolution (molecular ecology, evolution of mating systems, phenotypic plasticity) to the macroevolution (phylogenetics and phylogeography). I graduated in Biology in 2011 at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil). I got my masters degree on Systematics and Evolution in 2014 at the same institution, with a short visiting reseacher period at Dalhousie University (Canada). I did my PhD student at Swansea University (United Kingdom), with my project mainly focusing on to understand how self-fertilizing fishes (the mangrove killifishes) cope with environmental variability, examining the relationship between epigenetics and genetics, as well its evolutionary consequences.
