graduated in Chemistry (1995) obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry (2001) both at University of São Paulo . He extended his career in two postdoctoral trainings, the first one at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (2005), and the second one at São Carlos Physics Instuitute (IFSC-USP, 2006). Currently, he is a principal investigator at University of São Paulo, and develops research focused in genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, oriented to the understading of the retrograde signaling, the pathway of communication between mitochondria and nucleus, and the molecular mechanisms of aging.
