Amanda Cardoso Duarte

Amanda Duarte is currently a researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Spain. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Technology for Internet Systems from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology where she also spent one year at the Northern Virginia Community College in the USA as part of the "science without borders" student exchange program. She received her master's degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande with a fellowship from the Human Resources - PRH 27-ANP. She received her PhD in Signal Theory and Communications from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Spain where she was a La Caixa INPhINIT e Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow. Her thesis titled "Data and methods for a visual understanding of sign languages" received the Excellent Cum Laude award.

Amanda Duarte é atualmente pesquisadora de Inteligência Artificial e Visão Computacional no Centro de supercomputação de Barcelona, na Espanha. Ela é graduada no Curso Superior de Tecnologia em Sistemas para Internet pelo Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Sul-Rio-Grandense (IFSul) onde foi bolsista de graduação sanduíche na Instituição Northern Virginia Community College nos Estados Unidos pelo programa Ciência sem Fronteiras. É mestre em Engenharia da Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) onde foi bolsista do Programa de Recursos Humanos - PRH 27-ANP durante sua tese. É doutora em Teoria de Sinais e Comunicações pela Universidade Politécnica da Catalunha (UPC) na Espanha onde foi bolsista do programa La Caixa INPhINIT e Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow. Sua tese titulada "Dados e métodos para o entendimento visual de linguagem de sinais" recebeu o prêmio de excelência Excellent Cum Laude.
