José Júlio do Rêgo Monteiro Filho

He graduated in medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ - (1987) where he did his Residency (1992) and Mastery (1996) in General Surgery. He started in laparoscopic Surgery at its beginning in 1992. He was the Chairman of the General Surgery Service of Hospital Souza Aguiar (that included the digestive hemorrhage Center) from 1996 to 2005. Professor of Clinical Surgery from 2000 to 2009 of Fundacao Educacional Serra dos Orgaos - Feso - entered as Assistant Professor and left as Professor . Member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons. Member since 1992 of the current SOCIVERJ- SOBRACIL-RJ Brazilian Society of Videosurgery and Robotics chapter Rio de Janeiro, being the President in the years of 2012/2013. Member of the Brazilian Society of Hernia and Abdominal Wall from the foundation. Since 2005 staff surgeon of Miguel Couto Hospital. Several participations - case presentation, lectures, moderations, conferences- on regional, national and international events. Special interest in liver and pancreatic surgery as well as in the abdominal wall and in digestive tract in general specially through laparoscopy.

Possui graduação em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1987) Residência(1992) e Mestrado(1996) em Cirurgia Geral pela Universidade Federal do Rio de JaneiroTítulo de Especialista em Cirurgia Geral por concurso pelo Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgiões. Começou na Cirurgia Videolaparoscópica no seu início. Foi chefe do Serviço de Cirurgia Geral do Hospital Souza Aguiar (incluindo o Centro de Hemorragia Digestiva) de 1996 a 2005. Professor de Clínica Cirúrgica da Feso de 2000 a 2009, tendo entrado como Professor colaborador e saído como Professor Titular. Membro Titular do Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgiões. Membro desde 1992 da SOCIVERJ- atual SOBRACIL-RJ- Sociedade Brasileira de Videocirurgia e Robótica capítulo Rio de Janeiro, tendo sido presidente no Biênio 2012/13. Membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Hérnia e Parede Abdominal desde a fundação. Membro do SAGES - Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons e "Fellow" do Colégio Americano de Cirurgiões- FACS - Desde 2005 cirurgião do Hospital Miguel Couto. Participações diversas - apresentação de casos, aulas, moderações, conferências em eventos regionais, nacionais e internacionais. Especial interesse em Cirurgia Abdominal, em especial no andar superior do abdome, notadamente fígado e pâncreas e na parede abdominal, especialmente pelo acesso vídeo-laparoscópico.
