I specialise in the archaeology of the Iron Age Mediterranean and the Near East, having received my doctorate in archaeology (DPhil) from the University of Oxford (Hertford College) in 2010, under the supervision of Prof. Irene Lemos (University of Oxford), which followed a two-year research master's course in classical archaeology ((MPhil, Classical Archaeology, 2006) at the same university and a Bachelor's degree at the University of Bristol (BA Archaeology, 2004). In my doctorate, I treated mobility in Early Iron Age Mediterranean, with a special focus on the Phoenician expansion in the West. In 2010, I was awarded a 3-year Veni research grant by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research, in the context of the ?Innovational Research Incentive Scheme?, which was hosted by the VU University Amsterdam. Further, I have been a guest scholar and visiting research assistant at other research institutes, including the German Archaeological Institute in Berlin, the Department of History at the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of Ghent. I have also taught modules in classical Greek and Mediterranean archaeology at the University of Oxford (as a tutor for various colleges of the university) and on western Phoenician archaeology, classical antiquity and Near Eastern economy at the VU University Amsterdam, the University of Groningen and the University of São Paulo. I have published two single-authored monographs on aspects of Phoenician archaeology in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and several several articles in academic journals and books.
