Targino de Araújo Filho

Fez a graduação, Mestrado e Doutorado em Engenharia de Produção, é professor da UFSCar desde 1979, sendo hoje professor titular. Foi Bolsista Produtividade do CNPq (1995-2000) trabalhando com a abordagem 'soft' da Pesquisa Operacional e com a metodologia da Pesquisa-Ação. Foi Presidente da Associação Brasileira de Engenharia de Produção (1996-1997) e Pró-Reitor de Extensão da UFSCar por dois mandatos (1996-2004). Durante este período foi Presidente e Vice-Presidente do Fórum de Pró-Reitores de Extensão das Universidades Públicas Brasileiras (2000 a 2002). A partir do envolvimento com a extensão universitária passou a atuar também em temas relativos à gestão universitária, à política científica e tecnológica e sua relação com a sociedade. Foi Reitor da UFSCar por duas gestões (2008-2016) e durante este período teve uma intensa atuação na Associação Nacional dos Dirigentes das Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior (ANDIFES) tendo sido seu vice-presidente e presidente(2013-2015) e presidido sua Comissão de Relações Internacionais por três mandatos. Foi também Presidente da Associação de Universidades Grupo Montevidéu (AUGM), por dois mandatos (2011-2013), quando passou a se envolver com a criação do Espaço Latino-Americano e Caribenho de Educação Superior (ENLACES). Mais recentemente, com o apoio da CAPES (PGCI), realizou um Estágio Senior trabalhando com a Internacionalização do Ensino Superior na América-Latina e Caribe, ficando até junho de 2017 na NAFSA (Association of International Educators), em Washington DC, e depois, até fevereiro de 2018, no Centre for Higher Education Internationalization da Universidade Católica SacroCuore de Milão.

Targino de Araujo Filho has its undergraduate, Masters and PhD Degrees in Production Engineering, he is a professor at UFSCar since 1979, and is now a full professor. He was a Productivity Scholar at CNPq (1995-2000) working with the 'soft' approach of Operational Research and Research-Action methodology. He was President of the Brazilian Association of Production Engineering (1996-1997) and Pro-Rector of Extension of UFSCar for two terms (1996-2004). During this period he was President and Vice-President of the Forum of Pro-Rectors of Extension of the Brazilian Public Universities (2000 to 2002). From the involvement with the university extension, it also began to work on topics related to university management, science and technology policy and its relationship with society. He was Rector of UFSCar for two years (2008-2016) and during this period he had a strong presence in the National Association of Directors of Federal Institutions of Higher Education (ANDIFES), having been its vice president and president (2013-2015) and presided over his Committee on International Relations for three terms. He was also President of the Association of Universities Grupo Montevideo (AUGM), for two terms (2011-2013), when he became involved with the creation of the Latin American and Caribbean Area of Higher Education (ENLACES). Currently, with the support of CAPES, he holds a Senior Internship in which he discusses the Internationalization of Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, and until June 2015 at NAFSA (Association of International Educators) in Washington, DC, and then through February 2018, at the Center for Higher Education Internationalization of the SacroCuore Catholic University of Milan
