Paola Villegas Guzmán

P. Villegas-Guzman obteve o título de Tecnologista em Química (Chemical Technology) na Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira (UTP), Colômbia, no ano de 2003, participando nas atividades de pesquisa no Grupo de Investigación Polifenoles, coordenado pela Professora Dr. Luz Angela Veloza, obtendo experiencia o estudo fitoquímico e atividade biológica de material vegetal. No ano 2012, obteve o título de em Química (BsC Química) pela Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA), Colômbia. Durante o período de estudos na universidade a candidata fez parte o Grupo de Investigación de Compuestos Funcionales, coordenado pelo Professor Dr. Miguel Angel Puertas Mejía onde seu performance se relaciona com a recuperação de componentes com potencial a partir de produtos naturais e subprodutos da indústria. Após a obtenção do título de químico, P. Villegas-Guzman obteve uma bolsa pela Universidad de Antioquia para realizar seus estudos de Mestrado em Ciências Químicas obtendo a titulação no ano 2014 com uma distinção meritória ao seu trabalho de dissertação (Titulo: Advanced Oxidation Processes applied to the degradation of the antibiotic dicloxacillin in waters) o qual foi desenvolvido no grupo de Investigação em Remediación Ambiental y Biocatálisis (GIRAB) sob a supervisão dos Professores Dr. Ricardo A. Torres Palma e Dr. Javier Silva Agredo. No mesmo ano, ingressou na pós-graduação do programa de Doutorado em Ciências Químicas sob a supervisão dos Professores Dr. Ricardo A. Torres Palma e Dr. Javier Silva Agredo obtendo o titulo no ano 2018 com uma distinção Summa Cum Laude a sua tese doutoral titulada ?Evaluation of Advanced Oxidation Processes as treatments for hospital and domestic wastewaters?. Durante o período de doutorado, a candidata foi convidada pelo Professor Dr. Cesar Pulgarin para desenvolver parte dos seus estudos na École Politechnique Fédéral de Lausanne (EPFL) na Suiça sendo bolsista da bolsa do Programa de Enlazamundos (Colômbia). Em fevereiro de 2018, foi selecionada para realizar um estagio de pós-doutorado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Química da UFRN com uma bolsa outorgada pelo Programa Nacional de Pós-Doutorado (PNDP/CAPES). O estagio de pós-doutorado que a candidata efetua atualmente na Universidade Federal Rio Grande do Norte. Villegas-Guzman tem experiência profissional como coordenador de laboratório e assistente de investigação associadas nas áreas de Química Ogânica e Química Ambiental.

During the period of studies at the university the candidate was part of the Research Group of Functional Compounds, coordinated by Professor Dr. Miguel Angel Puertas Mejía where his performance is related to the recovery of components with potential from natural products and by-products of the industry. After obtaining the title of chemist, P. Villegas-Guzman obtained a scholarship by the University of Antioquia to carry out his Master's Degree in Chemical Sciences, obtaining the title in 2014 with a distinction worthy of his dissertation work (Title: Advanced Oxidation Processes applied to the degradation of the antibiotic dicloxacillin in waters) which was developed in the group of Research in Environmental Remediation and Biocatálisis (GIRAB) under the supervision of Professors Dr. Ricardo A. Torres Palma and Dr. Javier Silva Agredo. In the same year, he entered the postgraduate program of the Doctorate in Chemical Sciences under the supervision of Professors Dr. Ricardo A. Torres Palma and Dr. Javier Silva Agredo obtaining the title in the year 2018 with a distinction Summa Cum Laude his doctoral thesis entitled "Evaluation of Advanced Oxidation Processes for Hospital and Domestic Wastewaters." During the doctoral period, the candidate was invited by Professor Dr. Cesar Pulgarin to develop part of his studies at the École Politechnique Fédéral de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland and was awarded a scholarship from the Enlazamundos Program (Colombia). In February 2018, she was selected to perform a postdoctoral internship in the Graduate Program in Chemistry of UFRN with a grant awarded by the National Postdoctoral Program (PNDP / CAPES). The postdoctoral stage that the candidate is currently doing at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Villegas-Guzman has professional experience as laboratory coordinator and associate research assistant in the fields of Ocher Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry.
