Alan Roger dos Santos Silva

Cirurgião-Dentista graduado pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (FOA-UNESP), onde iniciou treinamento em Estomatologia e Patologia Oral por meio de estágios clínicos no Centro de Oncologia Bucal (COB) e que o outorgou a láurea acadêmica "Prof. Enyr Geraldo Arcieri" pela performance no curso de Graduação. Logo em seguida iniciou o curso de Mestrado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estomatopatologia na Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba, da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (FOP-UNICAMP), em parceria com o Departamento de Estomatologia do A. C. Camargo Cancer Center e, posteriormente, o curso de Doutorado que foi realizado em parceria com o Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield, Inglaterra, por meio do Programa de Doutorado Sanduíche no Exterior (PDSE/CAPES). Possui os títulos de especialista em Estomatologia e Patologia Oral Maxilofacial e habilitação em Odontologia Hospitalar e Laserterapia (Fotobiomodulação), outorgados pelo Conselho Federal de Odontologia. Em termos de atuação profissional, exerceu a função de Cirurgião-Dentista do Serviço de Odontologia Oncológica do Instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo (ICESP-FMUSP), sendo que desde o ano de 2011 integra o corpo docente do Departamento de Diagnóstico Oral da FOP-UNICAMP. Nesta instituição ocupa a função de Livre-Docente no ensino teórico e clínico junto ao Curso de Graduação em Odontologia, aos Cursos de Pós-Graduação stricto sensu (Mestrado e Doutorado dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Estomatopatologia e Materiais Dentários) e aos Cursos de Pós-Graduação lato sensu (coordenando os Cursos de Especialização em Estomatologia, Especialização em Patologia Oral Maxilofacial e Extensão Modalidade de Ensino a Distância no campo dos conceitos contemporâneos do câncer de boca). No contexto da administração acadêmica atuou como membro (eleito) da Congregação da FOP-UNICAMP, Coordenador do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estomatopatologia da FOP-UNICAMP [CAPES 6 (2012-2016)], membro (eleito) do Conselho Universitário da UNICAMP e, ainda, do Conselho Superior do Hospital das Clínicas da UNICAMP. Além disso, é membro dos quadros de assessores ad hoc das instituições FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq e FAEPEX/UNICAMP. Sua atuação em pesquisa concentra-se em estudos clínicos e de patologia básica direcionados para a problemática do câncer de boca e da orofaringe no Brasil e na América Latina, com apoio financeiro da CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP e FAEPEX/UNICAMP. Como consequência de sua atuação acadêmico-administrativa, foi Secretário da Sociedade Brasileira de Estomatologia e Patologia Oral (SOBEP), onde atualmente desempenha a função de Diretor Financeiro, além de fazer parte dos quadros das Câmaras Técnicas em Estomatologia e Patologia Oral Maxilofacial do Conselho Regional de Odontologia do Estado de São Paulo. No cenário internacional, além de ser Fellow da American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM), integra o Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group (LACOG) na sessão Head and Neck Cancer, o Working Group da International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) que elaborou o Handbook on Oral Cancer Prevention da Organização Mundial da Saúde. Também foi eleito para os exercícios de: (i) Conselheiro da América Latina e do Caribe junto à International Association of Oral Pathologists (IAOP), (ii) Secretário Geral da World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy (WALT) e (iii) Reviewer do World Workshop on Oral Medicine VIII, organizado pela AAOM. Compõe o Corpo Editorial do periódico científico norte-americano Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology e do periódico europeu Frontiers in Oral Health (Oral Cancers). Como palestrante, proferiu conferências presenciais em centros de ensino, pesquisa e assistência clínica nas 5 regiões administrativas do Brasil; no exterior ministrou palestras na Argentina, Chile, Colômbia, EUA, Finlândia, Inglaterra e México.

Dentist graduated from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (FOA-UNESP), institution where he began his training in Stomatology (Oral Medicine) and Oral Pathology through clinical internships at the Oral Oncology Center (COB) and which awarded him the academic laurel "Prof. Enyr Geraldo Arcieri" for his undergraduate performance. Soon after, he began his Master's Degree in the Post-Graduation Program in Stomatopathology at the Piracicaba Dental School, State University of Campinas (FOP-UNICAMP), in partnership with the Department of Stomatology of the A. C. Camargo Cancer Center and, later, the PhD course that was held in partnership with the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Clinical Dentistry, University of Sheffield, England, through the Program for Doctoral Studies Abroad (PDSE/CAPES). He holds the titles of Specialist in Stomatology (Oral Medicine) and Oral Maxillofacial Pathology and habilitation in Hospital Dentistry and Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation), granted by the Brazilian Federal Council of Dentistry. In terms of professional performance, he was a Dental Surgeon of the Oncological Dentistry Service of the Cancer Institute of the State of São Paulo (ICESP-FMUSP), and since 2011 he is part of the faculty of the Department of Oral Diagnosis of FOP-UNICAMP. At this institution, he holds the position of Associate Professor in theoretical and clinical teaching in the Undergraduate Dental School, the Postgraduate Courses (Master's and Doctoral Programs in Stomatopathology and Dental Materials) and Postgraduate Courses (coordinating the Specialization Courses in Stomatology, Specialization in Oral Maxillofacial Pathology and Distance Learning Modality Extension in the field of contemporary concepts of oral cancer). In the context of academic administration he has served as (elected) member of the Congregation of the FOP-UNICAMP, Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Stomatopathology of the FOP-UNICAMP [CAPES 6 (2012-2016)], (elected) member of the University Council of UNICAMP and, also, of the Superior Council of the Hospital das Clínicas of UNICAMP. In addition, he is a member of the ad hoc advisory board of FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq and FAEPEX/UNICAMP. His research activities focus on clinical and basic pathology studies directed towards the problem of oral and oropharyngeal cancer in Brazil and Latin America, with financial support from CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP and FAEPEX/UNICAMP. As a result of his academic-administrative activities, he was Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Stomatology and Oral Pathology (SOBEP), where he currently serves as Financial Director, and is a member of the Technical Chambers in Stomatology and Oral Maxillofacial Pathology of the Regional Council of Dentistry of the State of São Paulo. In the international arena, besides being a member of the Latin American Cooperative Oncology Group (LACOG) in the Head and Neck Cancer session, he is also part of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Working Group for the World Health Organization's Handbook on Oral Cancer Prevention. He was also elected to serve in the following positions: (i) Counselor for Latin America and the Caribbean with the International Association of Oral Pathologists (IAOP), (ii) Secretary General of the World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy (WALT) and (iii) Reviewer of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine VIII, organized by the American Academy of Oral Medicine. He is also on the Editorial Board of the North American scientific journal Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and of the European journal Frontiers in Oral Health (Oral Cancers). As a lecturer, he has delivered lectures in teaching, research and clinical care centers in the 5 administrative regions of Brazil; abroad he has lectured, among others, in the following countries: Argentina, Chile, Colômbia, EUA, Finlândia, Inglaterra e México.
