Jean Goncalves de Oliveira

Dr. Jean G. de Oliveira was born in Belém-PA-Brazil, where he graduated from medical school at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and accomplished his neurosurgical training at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), São Paulo-SP-Brazil, where he also worked in Division of Cerebrovascular Surgery and got his Master of Sciences (MSc) in Neurosurgery. In 2002 Dr. de Oliveira was board certified by the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery (SBN). During a fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Surgery at Frankfurt University (Germany), he developed a research study about non-invasive intraoperative cerebral ICG angiography during intracranial aneurysm surgery, whose final publication resulted in a Ph.D. in the Department of Neurosciences at University of São Paulo (FMUSP). Dr. de Oliveira got the CNS International Fellowship Award in 2006 and was trained by Dr. Robert F. Spetzler at Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), Phoenix-AZ-USA, focusing on neurosurgical treatment of cerebrovascular and skull base lesions. After his return to Brazil, Dr. de Oliveira became Head of Cerebrovascular and Skull Base Surgery at the Center of Neurology and Neurosurgery Associates (CENNA), Hospital Beneficência Portuguesa de São Paul-SP, Brazil. Between 2019 and 2022, Dr. de Oliveira was the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at A.C. Camargo Cancer Center (ACCCC) in São Paulo-SP, Brazil. Currently, Dr. Jean G. de Oliveira is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Santa Casa de São Paulo School of Medical Sciences (FCMSCSP), where he comprises patient assistance care, medical graduates and residents teaching, and research. Professor de Oliveira is a member of the Editorial Board and Reviewer of several international medical journals. In the last years, his teaching assignments included the Education and Training Committee of the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery (SBN) and the World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS). His main interests include the neurosurgical management of cerebrovascular diseases (intracranial aneurysms, brain AVMs, cavernous malformations) and neuro-oncology (brain tumors, gliomas, meningiomas, and skull base tumors).

Possui Graduação em Medicina pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1996) , Especialização em Neurocirurgia no Programa de Residência Médica da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2002), Mestrado em Medicina (Neurocirurgia) pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (2004) e Doutorado em Medicina (Neurologia) pela Universidade de São Paulo (2010) em cooperação com a Universidade de Frankfurt na Alemanha, durante a realização de Clinical and Research fellowship (2006) no Departamento de Neurocirurgia. Em 2006 foi premiado pelo Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) com o CNS International Fellowship Award, o que lhe rendeu uma bolsa para realizar um Fellowship em Neurocirurgia Cerebrovascular e Base do Crânio no Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) em Phoenix-AZ-EUA, sob a orientação do Prof. Dr. Robert F. Spetzler. Desde de 2017 trabalha como Professor de Neurocirurgia na Faculdade de Ciências Médicas da Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP). É membro do Corpo Editorial e Revisor de vários periódicos científicos. É membro titular da Sociedade Brasileira de Neurocirurgia (SBN), onde foi Secretário Geral da Diretoria (Gestão 2019-2020), coordenou o Departamento de Neurocirurgia Vascular de 2008 a 2012, foi Membro da Comissão de Ensino de 2010 a 2018, e fez parte da Comissão de Título de Especialista da SBN entre 2014 e 2016. Também é membro titular da Academia Brasileira de Neurocirurgia (ABNc), Associação dos Neurocirurgiões do Estado de São Paulo (SONESP) onde foi Vice-Presidente por duas vezes, American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), Federacion Latinoamericana de Neurocirugia (FLANC), da qual foi Presidente do Capitulo de Neurocirurgia Vascular (2019-2020), e World Federation of Neurological Societies (WFNS), da qual faz parte do Education and training Committee desde 2017. Tem experiência na área de Neurocirurgia, com ênfase em Microcirurgia dos Tumores cerebrais, Tumores da Base do Crânio e lesões cerebrovasculares, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Neuro-oncologia (tumores do sistema nervoso central, gliomas, meningiomas e tumores da base do crânio), Doenças cerebrovasculares (Aneurisma cerebral, malformações arteriovenosas, cavernomas, hemorragia subaracnóide, vasoespasmo cerebral, hematomas cerebrais e revascularização cerebral), e anatomia neurocirúrgica.
