Holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará (1987), a master's degree in Pathology from the Federal University of Ceará (2000) and a doctorate in Tocogynecology from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the State University of Campinas (2007). He is currently an associate professor of the Department of Women's, Child and Adolescent Health at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), teaching the discipline of Gynecology. He is also an advisor in the professional master's degree in Women's and Children's Health in the same department. He is also an advisor professor of the Master's and Doctorate in Pathology courses at the Federal University of Ceará. He is PRESIDENT of the Brazilian Society of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. He is a member of the International Academy of Cytology. He was director of ethics and professional defense of the Brazilian Society of Cytopathology. Former president of the Brazilian Society of Cytopathology-Ce and the Cearense Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SOCEGO). He is the author of the books: Sexually transmitted diseases: to know and face 1st edition 2002 and 2nd edition 2007, Editora Contexto, São Paulo and Basic Notions of Gynecological Cytology 1st Edition 2003, Editora Santos, São Paulo. Has experience in Medicine, with emphasis on Pathology of the Lower Genital Tract, acting on the following subjects: cytopathology, hpv, genital cancer, genital infections, sexually transmitted diseases and genitoscopy.

Ex- chefe do DSMCA. Também é orientador no mestrado profissionalizante em Saúde da Mulher e da Criança do mesmo departamento. Também é professor orientador do curso de Mestrado e de Doutorado em Patologia da Universidade Federal do Ceará. É PRESIDENTE da Sociedade Brasileira de Doenças Sexualmente Transmissíveis. É membro da International Academy of Cytology. Foi diretor de ética e defesa profissional da Sociedade Brasileira de Citopatologia . Ex-presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Citopatologia-Ce e da Associação Cearense de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia (SOCEGO). É autor dos livros: Doenças sexualmente transmissíveis : conhecer e enfrentar 1a edição 2002 e 2a edição 2007, Editora Contexto, São Paulo e Noções Básicas de Citologia Ginecológica 1a Edição 2003, Editora Santos, São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Medicina, com ênfase em Patologia do Trato Genital Inferior, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: citopatologia, hpv, câncer genital, infecções genitais, doenças sexualmente transmissíveis e genitoscopia.
