Rodrigo André Hummes

He has master degree in Infrastructure, focusing on Geotechnics, from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution. He taught Soil Mechanics I and II at UFSC between 2007 and 2012 and since then is the manager of HMS Engineering Ltd. He has experience in the following geotechnical areas: embankments on soft soils, slope stability, retaining walls, foundations, soil-structure interaction, numerical modeling with finite element method (Plaxis), dams and deposits of coal tailings.

Possui mestrado em Infra-Estrutura Viária, com foco em Geotecnia, pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) e graduação em Engenharia Civil pela mesma instituição. Foi professor das disciplinas Mecânica dos Solos I e II na UFSC entre 2007 e 2012. É sócio-gerente da HMS Engenharia Ltda desde 2012. Atua principalmente nas seguintes áreas geotécnicas: aterros sobre solos moles, estabilidade de encostas, estruturas de contenção, fundações, interação solo-estrutura, modelagem numérica com método dos elementos finitos (Plaxis), barragens e depósitos de rejeitos de carvão mineral.
