Alessandro Zimmer

Atualmente Professor Convidado do Instituto de Pesquisas Aplicadas em Engenharia Automotiva CARISSMA da Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt/Alemanha, foi Diretor de Desenvolvimento Tecnológico dos Institutos Lactec, e também Pró-Reitor do Programa de Pós-Graduação dos Institutos (mestrado profissional). É membro do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica da Universidade Federal do Paraná. É doutor em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), mestre em Engenharia Elétrica e Computação pelo Instituto de Tecnologia de Nagoya (NIT-Japão) e bacharel em Ciência da Computação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR). Especialista na área de Computação com ênfase em Sistemas de Visão Computacional, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: reconhecimento de padrões, sistemas biométricos multimodais híbridos (mãos, face, íris/pupila, impressão digital e assinatura), aplicações de processamento de imagens e otimização de sistemas. É professor concursado da Universidade Federal do Paraná pelo Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica (atualmente afastado), tendo trabalhado no Brasil nas seguintes instituições: Universidade Positivo, Universidade Tuiuti, UniFAE, SPEI e CITS. Atuou também durante sete anos em instituições no Japão e Canadá.

From 2017, Guest Professor of the Institute of Applied Automotive Engineering Research CARISSMA of the University of Applied Sciences of Ingolstadt/Germany. Formerly acted as the CTO of the Lactec Institutes in Brazil and also Pro-Rector of the graduate program of the same institute. Is a member of the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering of the Federal University of Paraná. Has it´s PhD degree in Electrical Engineering by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), master degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology/Japan and bachelor degree in Computer Science by the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC-PR). Specialist in the area of Computing Vision Systems working mainly under the following topics: pattern recognition, hybrid multimodal biometric systems, image processing and systems optimization. It is a professor from the Federal University of Paraná from the Department of Electrical Engineering. Have also worked several years in institutions in Japan and Canada.
