Adriana Brondani da Rocha

Possui graduação em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1992), mestrado em Ciências Biológicas (Bioquímica) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1994) e doutorado em Ciências Biológicas (Bioquímica) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2000). Foi professora de graduação e pós-graduação por mais de 15 anos. Dirigiu o Conselho de Informações sobre Biotecnologia (CIB) por 8 anos, onde trabalhou pela difusão de conhecimento e promoção de diálogo sobre as potencialidades e impactos da biotecnologia agrícola. Em 2017 fundou a Biofocus Hub, onde vem conduzindo projetos de comunicação científica de temáticas relacionadas à sustentabilidade e produção de agrícola, engajando públicos e conectando pesquisadores às empresas e à sociedade.

Throughout my 15-year career in Brazil, I have dedicated to building bridges between science and society, designing strategies and planning projects according to the challenges related to plant science in the areas of development and adoption of innovative solutions. In academia, through teaching and research activities, I started to promote the benefits that science brings to all of us, by connecting scientists and engaging audiences in educational and communication programs at schools, in the digital media, on TV and radio. I led the Biotechnology Information Council (CIB-Conselho de Informação sobre Biotecnologia) for over 8 years, establishing it as a focal point for science-backed dialogues with industry, government, NGOs, academia, farmers and the media. After the integration of CIB to CropLife Brasil, I started to dedicate to Biofocus Hub, a company focused on creating value at the intersection of science, communication and business. Throughout my career, I have gained experience in scientific communication, stakeholder mapping as well as the ability to both manage, empower, inspire and motivate teams located at multiple sites and handle multiple projects involving various stakeholders including international organizations, government, the business sector, NGOs, locally and globally, and academic institutions. In addition, I have acquired skills for crisis management and knowledge about corporate processes in issues related to sustainability, innovation, agribusiness and sector reputation.
