Graduada em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (1993), Mestre em Odontologia com concentração em Estomatologia pela Universidade Federal da Bahia (2001), Doutora em Patologia Humana pelo Centro de Pesquisa Gonçalo Moniz / Fundação Oswaldo Cruz / BA (2004), Pós-Doutora em Medicina e Saúde Humana pela Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde e Saúde Pública (2007), Livre Docente em Bioética pela Faculdade de Medicina da Bahia (FMB-UFBA). Professora Titular da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública de 2005 até maio de 2017, sendo atualmente Pesquisadora Visitante da EBMSP. Professora do Departamento de Medicina Preventiva e Social da Faculdade de Medicina da UFBA e professora permanente do Programas de Pós-graduação em Saúde, Ambiente e Trabalho (FMB-UFBA). Coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Medicina e Saúde (FMB-UFBA). Ensina Bioética, Bioestatística e Scientific English Practice. Preceptora do Programa de Residência Multiprofissional, Odontologia Hospitalar do Complexo HUPES e da Residência em Cirurgia e Traumatologia Bucomaxilofacail UFBA/OSID onde desenvolve pesquisas nas áreas de reconstrução facial, cirurgia das ATMs e cirurgia de gênero e suas relações com a qualidade de vida e trabalho. Membro Titular do Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgia e Traumatologia Bucomaxilofacial, Fellow da International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IAOMS), Pesquisadora na área de Qualidade de vida, sendo responsável pela análise psicométrica em qualidade de vida e outros instrumentos de percepção do Laboratório de pesquisa em infectologia da HUPES-UFBA. É membro da Sociedade Internacional de Estudos em Qualidade de Vida (International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies- ISQOLS) a da Sociedade Internacional de Pesquisa em Qualidade de Vida ( International Society for Quality of Life Research- ISOQOL), Membro do Comitê de Associados da ISOQoL no biênio 2018-2020 e Co-Chair da ISOQoL Developing Nations SIG. Atua nas seguintes áreas de interesse: validação e desenvolvimento de instrumentos psicométricos, qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde em pacientes com doenças crônicas e infecciosas e Qualidade de vida em saúde do trabalhador, Membro fundador e atual coordenadora do Núcleo de Pesquisa e Educação Transdisciplinar em Bioética (NETBIO) da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal da Bahia. Coordenadora do Convênio Internacional AISL-UFBA. Vice-coordenadora do Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa da Faculdade de Medicina da Bahia. Membro do corpo editorial (Review Editor) do Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. Editora de integridade científica do Journal of evidence-based healthcare . Full Professor at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health from 2005 until May 2017, currently serving as a Visiting Researcher at EBMSP. Associate professor in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the School of Medicine of UFBA and permanent professor in the Postgraduate Programs in Health, Environment, and Work (FMB-UFBA). Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Medicine and Health (FMB-UFBA). Teaches Bioethics, Biostatistics, and Scientific English Practice. Supervisor of the Multiprofessional Residency Program, Hospital Dentistry at Complexo HUPES, and the Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UFBA/OSID, where research is conducted in the areas of facial reconstruction, TMJ surgery, and gender surgery, and their relationships with quality of life and work. Full Member of the Brazilian College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IAOMS), Researcher in the field of Quality of Life, responsible for the psychometric analysis of quality of life and other perception instruments at the Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory of HUPES-UFBA. Member of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL), Member of the ISOQoL Associate Committee for the biennium 2018-2020 and Co-Chair of the ISOQoL Developing Nations SIG. Works in the following areas of interest: validation and development of psychometric instruments, health-related quality of life in patients with chronic and infectious diseases, and health-related quality of life in workers. Founding member and current coordinator of the Transdisciplinary Research and Education in Bioethics (NETBIO) at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Bahia.
