Caetano Maschio Santos

DPhil in Music student (University of Oxford), Master in Music (Ethnomusicology/Musicology) by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Bachelor in History (2009) and Popular Music (2016) by the same institution. Since the undergraduate period in the History course, has been focusing his studies on the general area of sociology of the arts, having produced his graduation paper within the topic of the history of the visual arts and themes of labor in Rio Grande do Sul in the first half of the 20th century. As a Popular Music undergraduate student, presented an ethnogaphy of the brazilian irish-celtic musical scene as his graduation paper and participated as an undergraduate researcher in Etnomus/UFRGS research group, continuing as a post-graduate student. My master's degree thesis was an ethnography conducted with Haitian immigrant artists in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Currently a DPhil student at the University of Oxford as a Clarendon and Stuart Hall Foundation scholar.

Doutorando em Música (University of Oxford), Mestre em Música (ênfase: Musicologia/Etnomusicologia) pela UFRGS, Bacharel em História (2009) e em Música Popular (2016) pela mesma instituição. Desde a graduação em História, vem voltando seus estudos para a sociologia da arte, tendo realizado sua monografia de conclusão sobre relações entre história da arte e o mundo do trabalho no Rio Grande do Sul na primeira metade do séc. XX. No curso de Música Popular, realizou como trabalho de conclusão uma etnografia da cena musical celta-irlandesa no Brasil, e participou por dois anos como bolsista de iniciação científica do grupo Etnomus/UFRGS, ao qual continua vinculado como pós-graduando. Sua pesquisa de mestrado foi uma etnografia realizada com artistas imigrantes haitianos no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. No momento cursa o doutorado em Música pela Universidade de Oxford (Inglaterra), com bolsa conjunta do Fundo Clarendon e da Fundação Stuart Hall.
