Luiz Paulo Bignetti

LUIZ PAULO BIGNETTI is a full professor at the Doctoral of Administration Program at UNISINOS, one of the largest universities in Brazil. Professor Bignetti has more than twenty years of experience as executive in several organizations in Brazil. From 2000 to 2002 he was the Dean of the Business School of UNISINOS. He was also a consultant to the Canadian Industrial Development Agency in projects conducted in Chile and Colombia. During his stay in Canada, he taught the International Strategy Course in the MBA Program at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales, HEC, Montreal and was also a research assistant to the Hydro-Quebec Chair of Management of Technology coordinated by professors Roger Miller, Chris de Brenson and Xavier Olleros at UQAM, Montreal. Originally educated as a chemical engineer, he holds a M. Sc. Degree in Chemistry from Georgetown University, a M. Sc. Degree in Business Administration from PPGA/UFRGS in Brazil and a Ph. D. Degree in Business from École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC Montreal). He was the Coordinator of the Management of Technology and Innovation Chapter of ANPAD, the Brazilian Association of Graduate Business Schools, from 2005 to 2008. Professor Bignetti s major research interests are related to management of innovation, social innovation, strategic change, leadership and organizational innovation. Two of his articles received best paper National awards from ANPAD.
Possui graduação em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1970), mestrado em Administração pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1992), mestrado em Química pela Georgetown University (1974) e doutorado em Administração pela Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Montreal (1999). Atualmente é professor titular do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Administração da Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, UNISINOS. É diretor da Bigtech Consultoria Empresarial Ltda. Tem experiência na área de Administração, com ênfase em Inovação, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: inovação, inovação social, estratégia, competitividade, empresas de base tecnológica e organizações inovadoras.
