Murilo Mesquita Baesso

Holds a degree in Agronomy from the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (2001), a Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Viçosa (2005), followed by a Doctorate degree in Agricultural Engineering also from the Federal University of Viçosa (2009). In addition, he reached the position of Livre Docente at the renowned University of São Paulo (USP) in 2017. Throughout his academic career, he played the role of Substitute Professor of Agricultural Mechanics and Mechanization at the Federal University of Viçosa and assumed the position of Associate Professor I in the Department of Engineering at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. He currently holds the position of Livre Docente Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), specifically at the Pirassununga Campus. He led the FZEA University Culture and Extension Commission, in addition to having assumed the presidency of the Course Chamber of the Pro-Rector's Office for Culture and Extension of the University of São Paulo (USP). He currently holds the position of head of the Department of Biosystems Engineering at FZEA/USP. He has experience in the area of Agricultural Engineering, with an emphasis on agricultural machines and mechanization, image analysis and precision agriculture, acting mainly on the following topics: optimization of machine operations, fault detection, image classification, prediction of agricultural demand and yield, intelligent equipment control, predictive maintenance, remote sensing and artificial neural network (Machine Learning).

Possui formação em Agronomia pela Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia (2001), Mestre em Engenharia Agrícola pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2005), seguido pela obtenção do grau de Doutor em Engenharia Agrícola também pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2009). Além disso, alcançou a posição de Livre Docente na renomada Universidade de São Paulo (USP) em 2017. Ao longo de sua trajetória acadêmica, desempenhou o papel de Professor Substituto de Mecânica e Mecanização Agrícola na Universidade Federal de Viçosa e assumiu a posição de Professor Adjunto I no Departamento de Engenharia da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. Atualmente, exerce a função de Professor Livre Docente na Universidade de São Paulo (USP), especificamente no Campus de Pirassununga. Liderou a Comissão de Cultura e Extensão Universitária da FZEA, além de ter assumido a presidência da Câmara de Cursos da Pró-reitora de Cultura e Extensão da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Atualmente, ocupa a posição de chefe do Departamento de Engenharia de Biossistemas da FZEA/USP. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Agrícola, com ênfase em máquinas e mecanização agrícola, análise de imagens e agricultura de precisão, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: otimização de operações de máquinas, detecção de falhas, classificação de imagens, previsão de demanda e rendimento agrícola, controle inteligente de equipamentos, manutenção preditiva, sensoriamento remoto e rede neural artificial.
