Doutor em Energia e Mestre em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade de São Paulo, Mestre em Planejamento de Transportes pela Universidade do Texas em Austin. Foi Pesquisador do Laboratório de Motores do Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas (IPT) por mais de 36 anos, do qual foi gerente e onde trabalhou na avaliação e o desenvolvimento de motores de combustão, combustíveis alternativos, veículos convencionais e híbridos; no desenvolvimento de inventários de consumo e emissões veiculares e em estudos técnico-econômicos nas interfaces do setor automotivo com as áreas de transportes, energia e meio ambiente, como, por exemplo, a implantação de programas de inspeção veicular. Atualmente atua como consultor, tendo já desenvolvido trabalhos dessa natureza para o Banco Mundial (BIRD), The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) e o Instituto de Energia e Meio Ambiente (IEMA). PhD in Energy and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of São Paulo and in Transportation Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. He was Researcher from the Engine Laboratory at the Institute for Technological Research (IPT) for over 36 years, where he was manager and worked on the evaluation and development of combustion engines, alternative fuels, conventional and hybrid vehicles; the development of inventories of vehicular consumption and emissions, and technical economic studies in the interfaces of the automotive sector with transportation, energy and environment, such as the implementation of I/M programs. He currently works as a consultant, having already developed such works for the World Bank (WBG), The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and the Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEMA).
