Dr. Grossi has Graduated in Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in 1985, he was awarded his Master of Science Degree in Restorative Dentistry - Occlusion from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1991; and he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy Degree - PhD from the University of Toronto in 1998 in the area of Oral Epidemiology and Oral and Facial Pain. In addition, he is a specialist in Prosthodontics and Oral and Facial Pain from the Brazilian Federal Council of Dentistry (CFO) in 2003. He also finished a post-doctoral training at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in 2012. He currently holds a position as a Professor (tenure) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Faculty of Dentistry - Brazil. He has been nominated for the Board of the International College of Prosthodontist and for the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Prosthodontics in 2015. He is currently the Coordinator of Prosthodontics of the Post-Graduate Program in Dentistry at PUCRS, School of Health Sciences - Program in Dentistry. Has has also been giving courses and lectures in Brazil and abroad. He is the leading researcher of the Research Group for Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders.
Possui graduação em Odontologia (UFRGS, 1985), Mestrado em Oclusão (Master Of Science Restorative Dentistry-Occlusion, University of Michigan, 1991) e Doutorado em Epidemiologia Oral (Doctor of Philosophy- PhD, University of Toronto, 1998). Especialista palo CFO em Prótese Dentária e Disfunção Têmporo-Mandibular e Dor Orofacial, 2003. Estágio pós-doutoral na Universidade de Toronto em 2010. É professor titular da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. É pesquisador líder do Núcleo de Pesquisa sobre Dor Orofacial e Desordens Têmporomandibulares desde março de 2000, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: disfunção temporomandibular, dor orofacial, bruxismo, distúrbios de sono, fatores psicológicos (i.e., depressão, ansiedade, estresse, etc.),e a interrelação entre eles. Já ministrou cursos e palestras no Brasil, Alemanha, Itália, Coréia do Sul, Holanda, e Chile. Possui larga publicação nacional e internacional nos temas, e recebeu prêmios de pesquisa internacionais na Itália e no Chile. Membro do Conselho Diretor do International College of Prosthodontists e do Conselho Editorial do The International Journal of Prosthodontics. Revisor de diversas revistas nacionais e internacionais. Foi Coordenador da Área de Prótese Dentária do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Odontologia da PUCRS.
