ROGÉRIO SALES GONÇALVES

He received the mechanical engineering degree from the Federal University of Uberlândia in 2004, Master degree in 2006 and Ph.D. at the same University in 2009. He was Visiting Scientist at The Eric P. and Evelyn E. Newman Laboratory for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT in 2016. Now he is Professor in Federal University of Uberlândia. He is member of RoboCup Brazil and ABCM (Brazilian Society of Engineering and Mechanical Sciences). He is author or co-author of about 100 papers, which have been presented in national and international conferences or published in national and international journals. His research interest includes kinematics and dynamics of serial and parallel structure, stiffness, singularities, cable-driven parallel structure, mobile robots, robotic structures for rehabilitation, biorobotics, bioengineering and humanoid robots.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2004), mestrado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2006) e doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2009). Em 2016 realizou um período sabático no Newman Laboratory for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation - Department of Mechanical Engineering do Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT - EUA. Atualmente é Professor Associado III da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Mecânica, com ênfase em projeto de sistemas mecânicos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: robótica, robótica móvel, robôs humanoides, estruturas robóticas paralelas, rigidez, singularidades, estruturas robóticas para reabilitação e biomecânica. É secretário do comitê de Mecatrônica da ABCM (2019/2023). É presidente da RoboCup Brasil (2020/2023).
