I have completed my Physiotherapy and Honours Degrees at Santa Catarina State University in Brazil. At the same university, I undertook a Master degree on the effect of aquatic exercise in people with active rheumatoid arthritis. At the University of Sydney, I have conducted a PhD to investigate obesity-related risk factors for spinal pain, including the lumbar and cervical regions. My research has been focused on risk factors and management of musculoskeletal conditions and related disability. I have presented in plenary and poster sessions at several national and international conferences, including the Physiotherapy Conference: Australian Physiotherapy Association, and the International Neck and Back Pain Forum. My teaching experience includes lecturing and tutoring undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapist students in Australia and Brazil, as well as students? supervision. Additionally, I have worked as a research assistant across a range of research projects and have clinical experience in Orthopaedic and Sports physiotherapy field.
Possui graduação em Fisioterapia (2008) e Mestrado (2011) em Ciências do Movimento Humano pela Universidade Estadual de Santa Catarina. Realizou o doutorado na Universidade de Sidney, Austrália. Lecionou em programas de Graduação e Pós-graduação em Fisioterapia no Brasil (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina) e na Austrália (Universidade de Sidney). Atua como revisora científica dos periódicos Pain, BMJ e BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. Tem experiência na área de Fisioterapia musculo-esquelética, com ênfase em coluna vertebral, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: fatores de risco para dor lombar, estudo de gêmeos e epidemiologia.
