Bernardo Simoes Franklin

Graduated in Biology, Bernardo Franklin has Master and a PhD degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology by the René Rachou Institute/Oswaldo Cruz Foundation/Brazilian Ministry of Health. Awarded with a Fellowship from the Brazilian Research Concil (CNPq) to spent one year of his PhD in the Department of Medicine of the University of Massachusetts Medical Shcool, Worcester, MA, US. Awarded with the Capes Prize for Best PhD thesis in Brazil, and winner of several international Young Investigator Awards, including the Alexander Von-Humboldt Fellowship for Post-doctoral Researchers, Bernardo has experience in innate immunity and inflammation. Graduação em Ciências Biológicas, Mestrado, Doutorado e Pós-doutorado em Ciências da Saúde pela Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, com período sandwich na University of Massachusetts Medical Shcool. Tem experiência na área de Imunologia de doenças infectiosas e Imunidade Inata. Gratificado com um grant da Bonn Forum of Biomedizin (BONFOR), Bernardo é atualmente um Junior Group Leader no Institute of Innate Immunity da Universidade de Bonn, na Alemanha, onde coordena pesquisas com o Inflammasoma. Vencedor de vários prêmios nacionais (Prêmio Capes de Teses 2010 como melhor tese na área de Medicina II no Brasil e Prêmio Jovem Talento Ciências da Vida GE Health Care e SBBq) e internacionais (Alexander Von Humbold Foundation e Helixis Young Investigator Award 2009).
