José Dércio Braúna

Doctor in social history (Federal University of Ceará, 2022), where he also attended a master's degree (in social history, 2011), being licensed in history by the State University of Ceará (2007). He is an investigator of the relationship between history and literature, with studies on the works of authors such as Mia Couto and José Saramago and their intersections with historiographical thought. Themes of interest to him are: debates on the theory and writing of history, African literature in Portuguese, Portuguese literature and history. In these areas of interest, he has published the following works: Nyumba-Kaya: Mia Couto and the delicate writing of the Mozambican nation (São Paulo: Alameda, 2014); The Haunting of History: History, Literature, and Postcolonial Thought (Fortaleza: Deleatur, 2015); Around the narrative [co-organizer] (Fortaleza: Expressão Gráfica, 2019).

É investigador das relações entre história e literatura, com estudos sobre as obras de autores como Mia Couto e José Saramago e suas intersecções com o pensamento historiográfico. São temáticas de seu interesse: os debates sobre teoria e escrita da história, as literaturas africanas em língua portuguesa, as literaturas e a história portuguesas.
