Thamy Lívia Ribeiro Corrêa
Researcher at the York Structural Biology Laboratory (YSBL) - University of York - UoY -UK, with extensive experience on biochemistry of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) and glycoside hydrolases (GHs), molecular biology and microbiology. Her Ph.D. thesis, focused on genetic modification of Penicillium griseoroseum to overexpress phytases and carboxylesterases, was granted by Novozymes, a big player on industrial enzyme field. Experience at Prof. Paul H. Walton laboratory at UoY, UK (2020 and 2022), where skills on electron paramagnetic resonance of metalloenzymes were developed. Collaborative works under development with UoY (alternative substrates for LPMO activity and spectroscopy of metalloenzymes), UNICAMP (biochemistry of LPMOs and plastic-active enzymes - PAZymes), and microbial platforms groups at UNICAMP (metabolic engineering of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and mechanisms of response to the stress imposed by inhibitors during fermentation). Two granted patents (phytases and carboxylesterases), one filled patent (PAZymes), and editor/reviewer in biotechnology-specialized journals. Experience on academy and private companies. Strong advocate of gender equality in science, being one of the six Brazilians chosen by 3M company as "25 Women in Science - Latin America".
bachelor's at Ciências Biológicas from Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (2006), master's at Agronomy from Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (2009) and doctorate at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2013).
