He holds a bachelor's, master's and doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Federal Universities of Pará (UFPA), Santa Catarina (UFSC), and the University of California at San Diego, USA (UCSD), respectively. In postdoctoral activities he was a visiting scholar at UCSD and the University of Texas at Austin. He is a professor at UFPA, where he coordinates the LASSE-Research and Development Group in Telecommunications, Automation and Electronics, being the institution's representative at the O-RAN Alliance and at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), linked to the UN. He is currently a "senior" member of SBrT and IEEE, and a researcher at the INESC Brasil network. He was the advisor of more than 70 graduate students at UFPA and coordinated dozens of RD projects. He has experience in the areas of digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and embedded systems.
Possui graduação, mestrado e doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica pelas Universidades Federais do Pará (UFPA), de Santa Catarina (UFSC), e Universidade da Califórnia em San Diego, EUA (UCSD), respectivamente. Em atividades de pós-doutorado foi pesquisador visitante na UCSD e na Universidade do Texas em Austin. É professor titular da UFPA, onde coordena o LASSE - Núcleo de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento em Telecomunicações, Automação e Eletrônica, sendo o representante da instituição junto à "O-RAN Alliance" e à União Internacional de Telecomunicações (ITU), vinculada à ONU. Atualmente é sócio "senior" da SBrT e do IEEE, e pesquisador da rede INESC Brasil. Orientou mais de 70 alunos de pós-graduação na UFPA e coordenou dezenas de projetos. Tem experiência nas áreas de processamento digital de sinais, inteligência artificial, telecomunicações e sistemas embarcados.
