Karla Danielle Xavier do Bomfim

Graduada em Medicina pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Obteve Prêmio Jovem Cientista Prof. Nelson Chaves durante a graduação no II Congresso de Iniciação Científica da UFPE. Residência Médica em Pediatria e Mestrado em Saúde Materno Infantil pelo Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira (IMIP). Concluiu o Doutorado em Saúde da Criança e do Adolescente pela UFPE em março 2023. Atua no Ambulatório de Ensino do IMIP e na UTI Neonatal do HC/UFPE. Editora associada e revisora da Revista Brasileira de Saúde Materno Infantil desde abril 2023. Membro da equipe de monitoramento do cuidado neonatal da estratégia QUALINEO do Ministério da Saúde/FIOCRUZ/IFF - Seccional Pernambuco-Hospital das Clínicas/UFPE. Membro efetivo do Comitê de Mortalidade Materna e de Mortalidade Neonatal e do Serviço de Bioética Clínica do HC-UFPE. É sócia-fundadora do Instituto Pernambucano de Bioética e Biodireito (IPBB). Atua em pesquisa, principalmente nos seguintes temas: violência, desenvolvimento e validação de instrumentos de pesquisa, cuidados paliativos, comunicação de más-notícias, Neonatologia, estudos da morbimortalidade em Pediatria.

Graduated in Medicine at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). Obtained the New Scientist Prof. Nelson Chaves Award during graduation at the II Congress of Scientific Initiation of Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). Medical residency in Pediatrics and Master's Degree in Maternal and Child Health from Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira (IMIP). Completed her PhD in Child and Adolescent Health at UFPE in March 2023. She works at the Teaching Clinic of IMIP and at the Neonatal ICU of Clinics Hospital/UFPE (HC/UFPE). Associate editor and reviewer of the Brazilian Journal of Maternal and Child Health since April 2023. Member of the monitoring team of neonatal care of the QUALINEO strategy of the Ministry of Health/FIOCRUZ/IFF - Pernambuco Sectional-HC/UFPE. Effective member of the Maternal Mortality and Neonatal Mortality Committee and of the Clinical Bioethics Service of HC-UFPE. She is a founding member of Pernambucan Institute of Bioethics and Bio Rights (IPBB). She works in research, mainly on the following topics: violence, development and validation of research instruments, palliative care, bad news communication, Neonatology, morbimortality studies in Pediatrics.
