Vinicius Vilperte
Vinicius Vilperte completed a M.Sc. (2014-2016) in Plant Genetic Resources with the CropScience Department at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil. He undertook a Bachelor Degree in Agronomy from that same university in 2013. Currently, Vinicius is doing his PhD in the Institute of Plant Genetics at the Leibniz Universität Hannover (Germany), with emphasis in Molecular Plant Breeding. His Research experience includes plant genetic diversity and conservation, risk assessment of genetically modified organisms and bioinformatics. Specific expertise are: conservation of genetic resources, biochemical and genetic characterization of transgenic crops and transcriptomic analysis (RNA-Seq). The main goal of his current research is to uncover the mechanisms of anthocyanin pigmentation in red- and white-flowering Poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima).
graduation at Agronomia from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2013) and master's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2016).
