Stella Zucchetti Schons is an economist, with a Bachelors degree from UNICAMP, a Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Yale University. With an interest in the compatibility between the development and conservation in the Amazon and the role of the private sector in this process, Stella worked at the Organization of American States (OAS) in a water resources management project, at "Fundación Natura - Bolivia" in a payments for environmental services project, and in The Forests Dialogue, United States, in multistakeholder dialogues on managed forests and REDD. She coordinated the Family Forests Project at IPAM, from the Santarém, PA office. Currently Stella has a PhD in Forestry (Fores and Natural Resources Economics) and is Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech since 2017.
Stella Zucchetti Schons é economista formada pela UNICAMP, Mestre em Gestão Ambiental e Mestre em Business Administration (MBA) pela Universidade de Yale, nos Estado Unidos. Com interesse na compatibilização entre o desenvolvimento e a conservação da Amazônia e no papel do setor privado nesse processo, Stella trabalhou na Organização dos Estados Americanos (OEA) em projeto de gerenciamento de recursos hídricos, na "Fundación Natura ? Bolívia" em projeto de pagamentos por serviços ambientais e no ?The Forests Dialogue?, Estado Unidos, em diálogos multistakeholder sobre florestas manejadas e REDD. Coordenou o Projeto Florestas Familiares no IPAM, a partir do escritório de Santarém, PA. Atualmente, Stella é a doutora pela Virginia Tech, onde agora e Assistant Professor (tenure track) desde 2017.
