Paulo Gustavo Macedo de Almeida Martins

Paulo G.M.A. Martins is graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal University of Viçosa (2005), MSc and DSc in Animal Science at the Federal University of Viçosa (2007 and 2011) with a doctorate sandwich internship period at the University of Florida (2009). He was a Post-Doctoral Associate at University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Range Cattle Research and Education Center from 2012 to 2014, and Post-doctoral Associate at the Federal University of Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM) from 2014 to 2016. He worked as a substitute professor at the Federal Institute of Northern Minas Gerais, Almenara campus, from 2016 to 2018. He has experience in animal production, with emphasis on beef cattle, primarily in the following areas: cow-calf management and feeding, reproductive and nutritional management, nutritional management, mineral supplementation, early weaning of beef calves, and primiparous cows. He is interested in research areas involving interaction between nutrition and reproduction in beef cows, nutrition and weaning management of beef calves, and nutritional management during the calf?s pre-weaning period, as well as in teaching and extension. Currently, he is a scholar of CAPES on the National Program of Post-Doctorate (PNPD) at UFVJM.

Possui graduação em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2005), mestrado e doutorado em Zootecnia (Produção de Ruminantes) pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2007 e 2011), com período de estágio sanduíche na University of Florida (2009). Foi um Post-Doctoral Associate na University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Range Cattle Research and Education Center (pós-doutorado), entre 2012 e 2014, e pós-doutorando na Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM), entre 2014 e 2016. Trabalhou como professor substituto no Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais, campus Almenara, entre 2016 e 2018.Tem experiência na área de Produção Animal, com ênfase em Bovinocultura de Corte, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: manejo e alimentação na fase de cria, manejo reprodutivo, manejo nutricional, suplementação mineral, desmame precoce de bezerros de corte e vacas primíparas. Tem interesse em áreas de pesquisas envolvendo interação nutrição e reprodução de matrizes de corte, nutrição e manejo de desmama em bezerros de corte, manejo e aspectos nutricionais na fase de cria, além de ter interesse em ensino e extensão. Atualmente, é bolsista da CAPES no Programa Nacional de Pós-Doutorado (PNPD) na UFVJM.
