Antonio Carlos Alkmim dos Reis

Graduated in Social Sciences from the Fluminense Federal University (1986). Master in Political Science from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (1992). Doctor in Political Science from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro (1997). Post-doctorate in Urban Planning from the Institute of Urban and Regional Planning of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2018) Has a course in Quantitative Methodology from the University of Michigan (1993). Retired senior researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics/IBGE (joined in 1980). Undergraduate professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (joined in 1998). He has experience in the field of Political Science, with an emphasis on political theory, elections, quantitative and qualitative methodology, social research, geoprocessing and, currently, analysis of social networks. He has accumulated managerial experience in the area of ​​social and municipal indicators. He was one of the creators, planned and was the first manager of the IBGE Basic Municipal Information Survey, IBGE, which received the 2005 Habitat Scroll of Honor Award, from the United Nations Program for Human Settlements.

Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (1986). Mestre em Ciência Política pelo Instituto Universitário de Pesquisas do Rio de Janeiro (1992). Doutor em Ciência Política pelo Instituto Universitário de Pesquisas do Rio de Janeiro (1997). Pós doutor em Planejamento Urbano pelo Instituto de Planejamento Urbano e Regional da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2018) Tem curso de Metodologia Quantitativa pela Universidade de Michigan (1993). Pesquisador sênior aposentado do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística/IBGE (ingressou em 1980) professor de graduação da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (ingressou em 1998). Tem experiência na área de Ciência Política, com ênfase em teoria política, eleições, metodologia quantitativa e qualitativa, pesquisa social, geoprocessamento e, atualmente, em análise de redes sociais. Tem experiência gerencial acumulada na área de indicadores sociais e municipais. Foi um dos idealizadores, planejou e foi o primeiro gerente da Pesquisa de Informações Básicas Municipais do IBGE, s do IBGE recebeu o 2005 Habitat Scroll of Honour Award, do Programa das Nações Unidas para os Assentamentos Humanos, em 2005.
