Juliana Lins Góes de Carvalho

I am a biologist with a Master in Botany by INPA (National Institute of Amazonian Research 2013). I currently hold an International Climate Protection Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, based at the Climate Alliance (Klima-Bündnis e.V.) in Germany, with a project on how indigenous knowledge and participation are considered in projects funded by International Cooperation in the Amazon. I worked for three years at ISA (Socioenvironmental Institute), advising Tukano-speaking people from the Tiquié and Uaupés rivers, on the upper Rio Negro, in an intercultural and collaborative research project on environmental and climate management. I carried out my master's research studying the legacy of pre-Columbian peoples in the Central Amazon. The focus was on present plants from riverine populations that currently live in areas of archaeological sites.

Sou bióloga e mestra em Botânica pelo INPA (Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, 2013). No presente possuo uma International Climate Protection Fellowship da Fundação Alexander von Humboldt, baseada na Aliança Pelo Clima (Klima-Bündnis e. V.) na Alemanha, com um projeto sobre como os conhecimentos e a participação indígena são considerados em projetos financiados pela Cooperação Internacional na Amazônia. Trabalhei três anos no Instituto Socioambiental assessorando povos de língua tukano dos rios Tiquié e Uaupés, no alto Rio Negro, em um projeto de pesquisa intercultural e colaborativa de manejo ambiental e climático. Realizei minha pesquisa de mestrado estudando o legado de povos pré-colombianos da Amazônia Central. O foco eram as plantas do presente de populações ribeirinhas que atualmente vivem em áreas de sítios arqueológicos.
