Postdoc at LMU's Global History Center as a researcher of ?Back to nature: COVID-19, utopia and socio-spatial dynamics in Brazil? project (Volkswagen Foundation ?Corona Crisis and Beyond ? Perspectives for Science, Scholarship and Society? Special Call). The cooperative project is directly connected to ?Radical Utopian Communities: Global Histories from the Margins, 1900-1950" led by Dr. Robert Kramm.
I am a historian whose research scope encompasses the history of Latin America in the twentieth century and its global connectedness, with an emphasis on urban planning, immigration and environment. In 2015, I joined the Lateinamerika-Institut (LAI) at the Freie Universität Berlin by means of a CAPES Program/PROBRAL grant. Shortly after finishing my PhD in 2016 at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio Grande do Sul, I became Assistant Professor at Universidade La Salle in Porto Alegre-Canoas, Southern Brazil.
My research has been marked by an interest in interdisciplinarity through the analysis of different scales and territories. In order to address the challenges of my core research fields, I have contributed both to regional and local urban studies in Brazil and Latin America to approaching these phenomena on a global level. Recently, I have been investigating the relationship between utopia, nature and migration.
Pós-Doutora pelo Munich Center for Global History, Alemanha. Doutora (2016) e Mestra (2011) em História pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Foi professora na Universidade La Salle entre 2016 e 2020 no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Memória Social e Bens Culturais (PPGMSBC), no Mestrado em Avaliação de Impactos Ambientais (PPGAIA) e nos cursos de História (Bacharelado e Licenciatura) e Arquitetura e Urbanismo (Bacharelado). Nesta universidade, desenvolveu projeto com auxílio do CNPq "Planejando o terceiro mundo: transnacionalidade e circulação de ideias em experiências de planejamento urbano no Sul do Brasil" (2019-2020)". Atuou também como professora na rede pública de ensino técnico e superior, no Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2016-2017).
É pesquisadora do Observatório das Metrópoles (Núcleo Porto Alegre), membro da AHILA (Asociación de Historiadores Latinoamericanistas Europeos), colaboradora da rede UEDXX (Urbanism of European Dictatorship during the XXth) e da BAYLAT (Bavarian Academic Center for Latin America). Atualmente, é coordenadora do projeto ?Resilient forest cities: utopia and development in the Brazilian Amazon?, financiado pela Fundação Gerda Henkel (2023-2026).
