Possui Pós-doutorado (2017) pela Techinische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Alemanha, do programa Novas Parcerias Integradas CAPES/DAAD/GIZ, doutorado (2004) em Engenharia Florestal pela Universidade Federal do Paraná, mestrado (2010) em Estatística, Matemática e Computação pela Universidade Aberta de Portugal, mestrado (1994) em Ciências Biológicas pelo Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia, especialização (2004) em Controle Estatístico de Qualidade pela Universidade Federal do Paraná, graduação (1984) em Engenharia Florestal pela Universidade Federal do Paraná. Atualmente é pesquisador A da Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária, professor colaborador de estatística nos cursos de Pós-graduação Ciências Florestais e Ambientais da Universidade Federal do Amazonas e do curso Ciências Florestais do Instítuto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazônia e professor titular de estatística da Universidade Paulista (2007-2018) . Tem experiência nas áreas de docência em Estatística, Recursos Florestais e Engenharia Florestal, com ênfase em Silvicultura, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Amazônia, plantações florestais, recuperação de áreas degradadas, florestas energéticas, métodos quantitativos e plantios florestais. É líder do grupo de pesquisa do CNPQ: manejo e silvicultura de florestas cultivadas, agrofloresta e sistemas agrosilvopastoris na Amazônia. Entre 1991 e 2016 participou de 25 projetos de pesquisa, sendo que coordenou 5 destes. Atualmente participa em 5 projetos de pesquisa, sendo que coordena 2 destes. Exerceu o cargo de Chefe de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento da Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental no período de julho/2017 a abril/2019.

Post-doctorate (2017) from Techinische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, from the CAPES / DAAD / GIZ New Integrated Partnerships program, PhD (2004) in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná, MSc (2010) in Statistics, Mathematics and Computing from Open University of Portugal, Master's degree (1994) in Biological Sciences from the National Institute of Amazonian Research, specialization (2004) in Statistical Quality Control from the Federal University of Paraná, degree (1984) in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná. He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, a collaborating professor of statistics in the Postgraduate Forest and Environmental Sciences courses at the Federal University of Amazonas and the Forest Sciences course at the National Institute for Amazon Research and a full professor of statistics at the Paulista University. (2007-2018). Has experience in teaching in Statistics, Forest Resources and Forest Engineering, focusing on Forestry, acting on the following subjects: Amazon, forest plantations, recovery of degraded areas, energy forests, quantitative methods and forest plantations. He is leader of the CNPQ research group: management and forestry of cultivated forests, agroforestry and agrosilvopastoral systems in the Amazon. Between 1991 and 2016 participated in 25 research projects, and coordinated 5 of these. Currently participates in 5 research projects, coordinating 1 of these. He held the position of Head of Research and Development at Embrapa Western Amazon from July/2017 to April/2019.
