Vincenzo Palleschi

I got my degree in Physics in June, 1984, cum Laude. The Ph.D. programme was introduced in Italy in 1980 and, at the time of my degree, it was just at its third cycle, i.e. at a very experimental stage. On the other hand, the Regio decreto n. 1269/38, art. 48, comma terzo, attributes the title of 'Dottore' (Doctor) to the laureates at the end of the full course of studies (4 or 5 years at the time). Only in year 2004 the title of Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) was separated by the title of Doctor (after that called Doctor Magistralis) attributed to the laureates. On the other hand, the National Research Council of Italy considers the Ph.D. title equivalent to three years of experience in public research institutions. In my career, I supervised several Ph.D. Thesis, for example the Ph.D. in Physics obtained by Dr. Gabriele Cristoforetti in Pisa (2003), the Ph.D. in Chemistry obtained by Dr. Stefano Legnaioli in Florence (2006) and the Ph.D. in Physics obtained by Dr. Mahamoud Hisham Imam at the University of Cairo, Egypt (2005). At present time, I'm senior researcher at National Research council and Professor at the Universities of Torino and Pisa.. I have experience in Physics, focusing on Atomic Spectra and Integration of Photons
