Rafael Afonso Nascimento dos Reis

Meteorologist with a master's degree in Remote Sensing from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and a PhD in Applied Meteorology from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), with a sandwich period at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), both with emphasis in the area of Ocean-Atmosphere-Cryosphere Interaction. He worked as a fellow in the area of Ocean-Atmosphere Interaction at the Southern Regional Center for Space Research (CRS/INPE) between 2014 and 2017. Uses remote sensing data, collected in situ and reanalyses both oceanic and atmospheric to analyze the variability and the impacts of climate change in the Southern Ocean.

Meteorologista com mestrado em Sensoriamento Remoto pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) e Doutorado em Meteorologia Aplicada pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), com um período de sanduiche no Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), ambos com ênfase na área de Interação Oceano-Atmosfera-Criosfera. Atuou como bolsista na área de Interação Oceano-Atmosfera no Centro Regional Sul de Pesquisas Espaciais (CRS/INPE) entre os anos de 2014 e 2017. Utiliza dados de sensoriamento remoto, coletados in situ e reanálises tanto oceânicas como atmosféricas para analisar a variabilidade e os impactos das mudanças climáticas no Oceano Austral.
