Giovanni Lo Iacono

Gianni Lo Iacono trained as a theoretical physicist but has applied his expertise in modelling and biostatistics to the epidemiology of plant disease, and zoonotic disease with special interest in the seasonality of water-borne and Gastrointestinal diseases (University of Cambridge and Public Health England) resulting in multiple high impact publications, before joining the School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 as lecturer in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. His current research interest at the University of Surrey focuses on formulating and applying mechanistic models to investigate impact of environment and societal changes on diseases, including vulnerability and resilience of countries to diseases.
