Marcelo Francisco de Nobrega
Marcelo Francisco de Nóbrega holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences (1998) from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (São Paulo) and a Masters in Animal Biology from the Federal University of Pernambuco-UFPE (2002). He holds a PhD (2008) in Biological Oceanography from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG). He has experience in Statistics, Ecology and Dynamics of Marine Fish Populations, with emphasis on growth studies, spatial statistics, evaluation and conservation of marine fish stocks. During the doctoral period he worked (sandwich scholarship) at the University of Alicante (Spain), where he studied Geoestatistica techniques applied to the spatial distribution of marine organisms, incorporating these techniques to evaluate the commercially important fish stocks of northeastern Brazil. Developed a postdoctoral project (DCR-FACEPE-CNPq) between 2010 and 2011 in the Department of Fisheries of UFRPE. He was a professor of Biostatistics between 2012 and 2016 in the Department of Oceanography and Limnology of UFRN, where he taught the courses of Biostatistics I and Biostatistics II for Aquaculture Engineering. He developed a postdoctoral project (PNPD-CAPES) (2012-2017) in the Department of Oceanography of UFRN, acting as a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Development and Environment of UFRN, where he guided students and ministered the discipline of Statistics Space Applied to Conservation and Management. Between 2017 and 2018 he worked at the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation - ICMBIO, at the Center for Research and Conservation of Marine Biodiversity of the Northeast - CEPENE. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in the Department of Oceanography, where he coordinates the Laboratory for assessment and geoprocessing of fish stocks - LAGEP, developing studies of the population dynamics of marine fish stocks, as well as the application of geostatistical techniques and investigation of interactions of environmental variables in the distribution and abundance of marine fishery resources in the northeastern region of Brazil.
