José Augusto Fontenele Magalhães

I am a research assistant at the School of Chemical Engineering, Aalto University. My research field interests include mathematical sciences, Bayesian statistics and machine learning, with applications to stochastic modelling of renewable energy and biological systems. I am very interested in programming, but science has been always full of surprises for me and I have always welcomed exploring options during both my Bachelor?s and Master?s. Some of the options were drilling of geothermal wells, thermal solar systems, predictive modelling for wind turbines and most recently applications of Piecewise Deterministic Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods.

Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Mecânica, com ênfase em Energias Renováveis. Possui graduação sanduíche na Universidade de Tohoku na área de geomecânica e mestrado em Ciências Matemáticas pela Osaka University; Colaborador da Energo Operação & Manutenção no segundo semestre de 2016 (estágio) e na startup Delfos Intelligent Maintenance até o ano de 2020 (Cientista de Dados). Atualmente pesquisa Estatística Bayesiana com aplicação em sistemas biológicos na Aalto University.
