Professor at the Department of Letters, linked to the area of ​​Brazilian Sign Language - LIBRAS, since 2010, at the Federal University of Viçosa - UFV. She is professor of the Postgraduate Program in Letters in the research line "Applied Linguistics: Teacher Training and Language Teaching and Learning" DLA / UFV. And, she also works as a professor in the interinstitutional Master in Social Anthropology carried out in partnership between the PPGAS / National Museum / UFRJ and the DCS / UFV. Has a Post-Doctorate, held at the University of California, Los Angeles - UCLA - at the Center for Language, Interaction and Culture (Center of Language, Interaction and Culture) - CLIC - She is a researcher associated with the CNPq Research Group: Beliefs in Teaching and Learning Languages ​​(CEALI-UFV) and Linguistics (Inter) Cultural (UFMG) .The research developed is related to the accessibility and inclusion of Deaf people in the educational field. The Brazilian Sign Language - Libras - is understood as the first language of the Deaf and Portuguese, the second.The studies cover the initial and continuing training of teachers who are learning this language as a means of communication and didactic constitution for acting in the classroom; and, the identification of the production of teaching materials for inclusion of Deaf students. Among the research questions, there are the different ways of comprehending Libras teaching and learning and the inclusion of deaf people in Basic Education and Higher Education, in the public teaching context.

Professora do Departamento de Letras, vinculada à área de Língua Brasileira de Sinais - LIBRAS, desde o ano de 2010, na Universidade Federal de Viçosa - UFV. É pesquisadora associada ao Grupo de Pesquisa do CNPq: Crenças sobre Ensino e Aprendizagem de Línguas (CEALI-UFV) e Linguística (Inter)Cultural (UFMG). As pesquisas desenvolvidas relacionam-se à acessibilidade e à inclusão de pessoas Surdas no âmbito educacional. A Língua Brasileira de Sinais - Libras - é entendida como a primeira língua da pessoas Surdas e a Língua Portuguesa, a segunda. Os estudos abrangem a formação inicial e continuada de professores que estão apreendendo essa língua como meio de comunicação e constituição didática para atuação em sala de aula; e, a identificação da produção de materiais didáticos para inclusão dos alunos Surdos. Dentre as questões de pesquisa, estão as diferentes formas de abrangência do ensino e aprendizagem da Libras e a inclusão das pessoas surdas na Educação Básica e no Ensino Superior, no contexto público de ensino.
