Javier Alexander Montoya Zegarra

Javier A. Montoya Zegarra was born in Arequipa, Peru, in 1982. He received the B.S. degree (with honors) in Computer Engineering from the San Pablo Catholic University (UCSP) in 2005. While he was with UCSP, his studies were supported by a fellowship from the same University. In December 2007, he received his Master degree in Computer Science from the Institute of Computing at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His Master thesis was awarded as the best thesis defended during 2007 in the Institute of Computing. While he was with the Unicamp, he holded a fellowship from the Brazilian National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq). His research interests are mostly concerned with both image representation and recognition.
