Michéle Dal Toé Casagrande is a Civil Engineer from the University of Passo Fundo (UPF-1998), Master's (UFRGS-2001) and Doctorate (UFRGS-2005) in Civil Engineering/Geotechnics, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, with a Sandwich Doctorate in Geotechnical Engineering by Imperial College London (ICSTM-2004), as well as Post-Doctorate at Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC, 2006-2007). She was Substitute Professor at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS-2006), Associate Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, 2008-2017) and since 2018 she is Full Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Technology at the University of Brasília (ENC/FT/UnB), where she works in Teaching, Research and Management - at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. She was a member of the Advisory Committee of ENADE/INEP (2011), of the Board of the Brazilian Paving Association (ABPv, 2011-2019), of the Board of the Brazilian Association of Non-Conventional Materials (ABMTENC, 2012-2014 and 2019-2021), of the Board of ABMS-NRRJ (2011-2012 and 2017-2018) and is currently a member of the Technical Committee "TC-211 - Ground Improvement" of ISSMGE (2023-2024), as well as Vice-President of the Board of ABMS-NRCO (2023-2024). She was Coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Civil Engineering (PUC-Rio, 2009-2012), Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Geotechnics (PPGG/UnB, 2020-2022), as well as acting/acting on several Committees, Management Commissions and Laboratory Coordinations. She is a CNPq "Productivity in Research PQ-1D" researcher, Ad-Hoc Consultant in Development Agencies, Research Project Coordinator and has published technical articles in qualified journals and annals of events. She has experience in the Geotechnical area, specifically in the lines of Experimental Geotechnics, Environmental Geotechnics, Mining and Pavements, with emphasis on the study of the behavior of New Geotechnical Materials (alternative materials, fibers, waste, geopolymers), through reinforcement, improvement and stabilization techniques, as well as investigating the behavior of mining tailings in various geotechnical applications and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) in geotechnics.

Foi Prof Substituta na Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS-2006), Prof Associada na Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio, 2008-2017) e desde 2018 é Professora Titular-Livre no Departamento de Engenharia Civil e Ambiental da Faculdade de Tecnologia da Universidade de Brasília (ENC/FT/UnB), onde atua em Ensino, Pesquisa e Gestão - em nível de Graduação e Pós-Graduação. Foi membro da Comissão Assessora do ENADE/INEP (2011), da Diretoria da Associação Brasileira de Pavimentação (ABPv, 2011-2019), da Diretoria da Associação Brasileira de Materiais Não-Convencionais (ABMTENC, 2012-2014 e 2019-2021), da Diretoria da ABMS-NRRJ (2011-2012 e 2017-2018) e atualmente é membro do Comitê Técnico "TC-211 - Ground Improvement" da ISSMGE (2023-2024), bem como Vice-Presidente da Diretoria da ABMS-NRCO (2023-2024). Foi Coordenadora do curso de Graduação em Engenharia Civil (PUC-Rio, 2009-2012), Coordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geotecnia (PPGG/UnB, 2020-2022), bem como atuou/atua em diversos Comitês, Comissões de Gestão e Coordenação de Laboratórios. Foi "Jovem Pesquisadora do Nosso Estado" pela FAPERJ (2013-2016), é pesquisadora "Produtividade em Pesquisa PQ-1D" do CNPq, Consultora Ad-Hoc em Agências de Fomento e é Coordenadora de Projetos de Pesquisa. Possui publicações de artigos técnicos em periódicos qualificados, atua como Membro Editorial e é Revisora de artigos em periódicos de alto impacto. Atua na área Geotécnica, especificamente nas linhas de Geotecnia Experimental, Geotecnia Ambiental, Mineração e Pavimentação, com ênfase no estudo do Comportamento de Novos Materiais Geotécnicos (materiais alternativos, fibras, resíduos, geopolímeros), por meio de técnicas de melhoramento - reforço e estabilização, bem como pela investigação do comportamento de rejeitos de mineração em aplicabilidades geotécnicas diversas e Análise do Ciclo de Vida (ACV) aplicada à geotecnia.
