I have a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy Food Technology from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1994), a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1996), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2000). Full Professor at the School of Health and Life Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and a supervisor in the Graduate Program in Cellular and Molecular Biology and in the Graduate Program in Medicine and Health Sciences at PUCRS. I served as the Vice-President for Research, Innovation, and Development at PUCRS from 2016 to 2017, and as the Vice-President for Research and Graduate Studies at PUCRS from 2017 to 2020. I have worked as a consultant for various national and international institutions, including the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the Financing Agency for Studies and Projects (FINEP), the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS), the Israel Science Foundation, the Medical Research Council (UK), the United States-Israel Binational Foundation, the Czech Science Foundation (Czech Republic), Fondo para la Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (FONCYT, Argentina), Le Studium (France), among others. I am a consultant and reviewer for over 80 international scientific journals and a member of the Society for Neuroscience (USA), the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, among other scientific societies. I have published over 230 articles in indexed international scientific journals, with over 6,355 citations and an H-index of 43 in Web of Science, and over 9,380 citations and an H-index of 54 in Google Scholar. I have supervised 14 completed doctoral theses, 27 completed master's dissertations, and 9 postdoctoral researchers. I have experience in the fields of Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Neurochemistry, working on topics related to purinergic signaling, evaluation of neurochemical and pharmacological mechanisms in neurological diseases and neurotoxicity, using rodents and zebrafish.
Possui graduação em Farmácia Tecnologia de Alimentos pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1994), Mestrado em Ciências Biológicas (Bioquimica) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1996) e Doutorado em Ciências Biológicas (Bioquimica) pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2000). Atualmente, é professora titular da Escola de Ciências da Saúde e da Vida da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) e orientadora no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Biologia Celular e Molecular e no Programa de Pós-Graduação Medicina e Ciências da Saúde da PUCRS. Foi Pró-Reitora de Pesquisa, Inovação e Desenvolvimento da PUCRS no período de 2016-2017 e Pró-Reitora de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação da PUCRS no período de 2017 a 2020. Atua ou atuou como consultora de várias instituições nacionais e internacionais, incluindo: Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES), Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (FINEP), Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (FAPERGS), Israel Science Foundation, Medical Research Council (UK), United States-Israel Binational Foundation, Czech Science Foundation (República Tcheca), Fondo para la Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (FONCYT, Argentina), Le Studium (França), entre outros. É consultora e revisora de mais de 80 periódicos científicos internacionais. É membro efetivo da Society for Neuroscience (EUA), Sociedade Brasileira de Bioquímica e Biologia Molecular, entre outras sociedades científicas. Publicou mais de 230 artigos em periódicos científicos internacionais indexados, com mais de 6.355 citações e índice H 43 no Web of Science e mais de 9380 citações e índice H 54 no Google Scholar. Orientou 14 teses de doutorado e 27 dissertações de mestrado já concluídas, e 09 pesquisadores de pós-doutorado. Tem experiência nas áreas de Bioquímica, Farmacologia e Neuroquímica, atuando em temas relacionados a sinalização purinérgica, avaliação de mecanismos neuroquímicos e farmacológicos em doenças neurológicas e neurotoxicidade, utilizando roedores e zebrafish.
