Rafael Barcellos Santos

Architect and Urban Planner (2000) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (FAU-UFRJ), in Brazil, Specialist (2007) and Master of Science (2009) in Methodologies of Intervention on Architectural Heritage (MIPA) from the Faculty of Architecture at University of Porto (FAUP), in Portugal, and Doctor of Philosophy in Urbanism (2015) from the Postgraduate Program in Urbanism (PROURB) of FAU-UFRJ. Was an Assistant Professor (2019-2020) at the Department of Architecture and Urbanism (DAU) of the Industrial Design Superior School (ESDI) at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), Temporary Contract Professor (2015-2017) for the discipline of Architectural Design and Form Conception II (CFA2) at the Department of Form Analysis and Representation (DARF) of FAU-UFRJ, and Research Member (2010-2014) at Laboratory for Urban Studies (LeU) in PROURB. Now is Assistant Professor (2020) at the Department of Architectural Design (DPA) of FAU-UFRJ, Fly-in Professor (2018) at the Department of Urban Planning and Architectural Design (UPAD) of the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), and Visiting Professor (2017) at the Graduate Master Course MA.DE.IN - Interior Design of the European Institute of Design Rio de Janeiro (IED Rio). Is also a Member of the Technical Cooperation Agreement between UERJ and Petrópolis City Council - Yellow Palace (CMP), to preserve, conserve, restore and use the building and its annexes.

É Professor Adjunto (2020) no Departamento de Projeto de Arquitetura (DPA) da FAU-UFRJ, Professor Visitante (2018) no Departamento de Planejamento Urbano e Projeto Arquitetônico (UPAD) da German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), e Membro Integrante e Pesquisador (2021) do grupo de pesquisa LabLugares no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura (PROARQ) da FAU-UFRJ.
