Cláudia Albuquerque de Lima Queiroz Costa

Formada em jornalismo pela Universidade Católica de Pernambuco obteve os graus de especialista em Política Cultural Regional, bem como de mestre em Comunicação pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco e de doutora em Comunicação, Cultura e Artes pela Universidade do Algarve (UAlg), Portugal. Possui uma vasta experiência em atividades de gestão e de assessoria para diversos órgãos públicos e instituições de ensino. Atualmente é professora da Universidade do Estado da Bahia, no Colegiado de Letras/Campus V, ensinando nas áreas de linguagens, artes, fotografia e vídeo. Sua formação acadêmica e profissional centra-se na prática e na teoria da imagem e da fotografia, temas das variadas publicações e exposições de sua autoria, bem como intervenções artísticas culturais. Sua tese de doutorado fundamentou-se nas bases do pensamento estético fotográfico e na fenomenologia e intenciona identificar como a fotografia vem se colocando como elemento de reconfiguração do homem em suas cidades contemporâneas, e para isso, analisa o fenômeno da subjetividade do olhar do fotógrafo a partir das narrativas visuais dos fotógrafos Pierre Verger e Adenor Gondim sobre a cidade de Salvador, Bahia. É colaboradora do Centro de Investigação em Artes e Comunicação (CIAC) da Faculdade de Ciências Humanas e Sociais da UAlg. Nos tempos livres dedica-se a percorrer e fotografar cidades.

I graduated as a journalist at the Catholic University of Pernambuco in Brazil and have specialized degree in Regional Cultural Policy, as well as a MA in Communication from the Federal University of Pernambuco. I have extensive experience in management and advisory activities for various agencies and educational institutions. I am currently a professor in the Bahia State University (UNEB) in the Faculty of Letters/Campus V, teaching in the areas of arts, photography and video. My academic and professional training focuses on the practice and theory of image and photography, themes of various publications and exhibitions as well as cultural artistic interventions, which last article: "The Photographic Camera: The beginnings of Dionysian/Apollonian art of Modernity" was presented in Helsinki Photomedia 2016- The Third International Photography Research Conference. Nowadays I am dedicated to my PhD project on Communication, Culture and Arts at the University of the Algarve (UALg), Portugal, with Dr. Ana Isabel Soares as supervisor. My thesis is based on the photographic aesthetic thought and seeks to identify how photography has contributed to a perspective of understanding as a human reconfiguration element in contemporary cities and explores ways to improve our perception through photographic images, and for this, using the Phenomenological methodology, analyze the visual narratives and the subjectivity phenomenon of the photographers Pierre Verger, Adenor Gondim and Mario Cravo Neto over the city of Salvador, Bahia/Brazil. I also work as a collaborator professor of Humanities and Social Sciences in UALg where I perform activities in the Research Centre for Arts and Communication (CIAC). In my spare time I dedicate myself to go and photograph cities.
