Marcel Ferreira Kunrath

Graduated in Dentistry from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in 2010. Postgraduate in Implant Dentistry (2013). Master in Materials Engineering and Technology (2016), with emphasis on Biomaterials. PhD in Dentistry (2020), with a visiting researcher period at the SALIVATEC-CIIS Laboratory at the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) - Viseu - Portugal (2019). Doctorate awarded with Honorable Mention in the CAPES Award for Theses 2021. Post Doctor in Dentistry (2020-2022). Post doctor in Clinical Sciences - Biomaterials (2021-2022), University of Gothenburg - Sweden (Awarded by the Osteology Foundation - Switzerland in 2021). Postdoctoral degree in Nanosciences from Escola Politécnica (PUCRS), supported by the grant "Young Researcher with postdoctoral experience abroad - CAPES". He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Health and Life Sciences (PUCRS), integrated researcher at the Department of Biomaterials, Institute of Clinical Sciences, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden and Guest Professor/Researcher at the Faculty of Medicine Dental - Viseu, Portugal. As a researcher, he participates in the Department of Biomaterials at the University of Gothenburg, in the Interdisciplinary Research Center (SALIVATEC) at the Portuguese Catholic University, in the Materials and Nanosciences Laboratory - TECNOPUC and in the Research Center for Toxicology and Pharmacology (INTOX) - PUCRS, he also has cooperation internationally with "The International Academy of Ceramic Implantology (IAOCI)". He has experience in the areas of implant surfaces, osseointegration, biomaterials, nanotechnology, animal models for dental materials, saliva and their application in research, drug-delivery systems and their applications in cell cultures and contaminations.

Atualmente, é pós-doutorando na Escola de Saúde e Ciências da Vida (PUCRS), pesquisador integrado no Department of Biomaterials, Institute of Clinical Sciences, The Sahlgrenska Academy at University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden e Professor/Pesquisador convidado na Faculdade de Medicina Dentária - Viseu, Portugal. Como pesquisador participa no Departamento de Biomateriais da Universidade de Gotemburgo, no Centro Interdisciplinar em Investigação (SALIVATEC) na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Laboratório de Materiais e Nanociências - TECNOPUC e no Centro de Pesquisa de Toxicologia e Farmacologia (INTOX) - PUCRS, também possui cooperação internacional com a "The International Academy of Ceramic Implantology (IAOCI)". Possui experiência nas áreas de superfícies de implantes, osseointegração, biomateriais, nanotecnologia, modelos animais para materiais dentários, saliva e suas aplicação em pesquisa, sistemas de drug-delivery e suas aplicações em culturas celulares e contaminações.
