Felipe Andreazza

Master and Doctor in Entomology by the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Agronomist by the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and Technician in Agriculture IFRS-BG, he is currently a postdoctoral associate at the Department of Biology at Duke University, USA. He was an intern at the Department of Crop Protection, FAEM-UFPEL and a Fellow at the Laboratory of Entomology-Embrapa Clima Temperado, working in the area of biological control, bioecology and integrated pest management of temperate fruit trees. He was also a Science Without Borders Fellow at the University of California, Davis, where he developed a project on the evolutionary ecology of a grape leafhopper parasitoid. During his doctorate and currently, he is working in the area of toxicology and neurophysiology of insects, with a focus on unraveling mechanisms of action of insecticides and repellents on Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.

Mestre e Doutor em Entomologia pela Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), Engenheiro Agrônomo pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) e Técnico em Agropecuária IFRS-BG, atualmente realiza pós doutoramento no Departamento de Biologia da Duke University, EUA. Foi estagiário do Departamento de Fitossanidade, FAEM-UFPEL e Bolsista do Lab. de Entomologia-Embrapa Clima Temperado, atuando na área de controle biológico, bioecologia e manejo integrado de pragas de frutíferas de clima temperado. Também foi bolsista do programa Ciência sem Fronteiras na Universidade da Califórnia, Davis, aonde desenvolveu um projeto sobre ecologia evolucionária de um parasitóide de Cigarrinha das Videiras. Durante o doutorado e atualmente, está atuando na área de toxicologia e neurofisiologia de insetos, com foco em desvendar mecanismos de ação de inseticidas e repelentes em mosquitos Aedes aegypti.
