Edmilson Moutinho dos Santos

Graduated in Economics (1990), and Electrical Engineering (1988) from the University of São Paulo. Master's degrees in Energy Management and Policy (University of Pennsylvania; 1993), and Energy Systems Planning (State University of Campinas; 1992). Ph.D. in Energy Economics from the French Petroleum Institute and Université de Bourgogne (1997). He is an associate professor at the Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of São Paulo (IEE-USP). Since March/2019 he is a CNPq Category 2 Scientific Productivity Fellow. Since December 2015, he participates as Principal Researcher and Program Coordinator at the Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Innovation [Engineering Research Center, CPE, jointly founded by FAPESP and SHELL BRASIL). Develops research and teaching activities emphasizing Energy Analysis and Planning, with research lines in Energy & Society, Energy and Environment, Integrated Resource Planning and Development of Fossil Resources (conventional and non-conventional), and Renewable Energy Sources, including interests in Economics, Law, Regulation and Energy Policies. He is an independent advisor and consultant to research and development organizations, companies, and governmental and non-governmental agencies. Since 2019 he coordinates the Program for Human Resources Training in Petroleum and Natural Gas at IEE-USP (PRH-33.1, supported by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels - ANP - and FINEP). He coordinates important internationalization initiatives at IEE/USP, including the International Academic Cooperation Agreement between IEE/USP and IFP SCHOOL, France. He was President 2014/2016 of the Brazilian Association for Energy Studies - AB3E; and President 2011/2012 of the Brazilian Society for Energy Planning - SBPE.

Possui graduação em Economia (1990) e em Engenharia Eletrotécnica (1988) pela Universidade de São Paulo. Mestrados em Energy Management and Policy (University of Pennsylvania; 1993) e em Planejamento de Sistemas Energéticos (Universidade Estadual de Campinas; 1992). Doutorado em Economia da Energia pelo Instituto Francês do Petróleo e Université de Bourgogne (1997). Atualmente é professor associado do Instituto de Energia e Ambiente da Universidade de São Paulo (IEE-USP). Desde Março/2019 é Bolsista de Produtividade Científica Categoria 2 do CNPq. Desde 2015 coordena Programas Científicos no Centro de Inovação em Gases de Efeito Estufa (Research Center for Greenhouse Gas Innovation) [RCGI/USP - Centro de Pesquisa em Engenharia, CPE, conjuntamente fundado pela FAPESP e SHELL BRASIL. Desenvolve atividades de pesquisa e ensino com ênfase em Análise e Planejamento Energético, com linhas de pesquisa em Energia & Sociedade, Energia e Ambiente, Planejamento Integrado de Recursos e Desenvolvimento de Recursos Fósseis (convencionais e não convencionais) e Fontes Renováveis de Energia, incluindo interesses em Economia, Direito, Regulação e Políticas da Energia. Atua como assessor e consultor independente junto a órgãos de fomento e de pesquisa, empresas, agências governamentais e não governamentais. É coordenador do Programa de Formação de Recursos Humanos em Petróleo e Gás Natural do IEE-USP (PRH-33.1, apoiado pela Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis - ANP - e a FINEP). Coordena igualmente importantes iniciativas de internacionalização do IEE/USP, incluindo o Acordo de Cooperação Acadêmica Internacional entre o IEE/USP e a IFP SCHOOL, França. Presidente 2014/2016 da Associação Brasileira de Estudos em Energia ? AB3E; e Presidente 2011/2012 da Sociedade Brasileira de Planejamento Energético ? SBPE.
